Tournament Info

Who May Participate?

All clubs, which are members of their FIFA affiliated national associations, are welcome to participate in the Chicago KIC International Youth Cup. In countries where soccer is operated by the schools we also allow teams affiliated by their school football association.

The tournament is played under all applicable FIFA or US Soccer rules. All players must be insured, both for games and leisure time.

Roster Eligibility & Size

Under 19 are Birth Year 1998 (11-a-side)
Under 18 are Birth Year 1999 (11-a-side)
Under 17 are Birth Year 2000 (11-a-side)
Under 16 are Birth Year 2001 (11
Under 15 are Birth Year 2002 (11-a-side)
Under 14 are Birth Year 2003 (11-a-side)
Under 13 are Birth Year 2004 (11-a-side)
Under 12 are Birth Year 2005 (9-a-side)
Under 11 are Birth Year 2006 (9-a-side)
Under 10 are Birth Year 2007 (7-a-side)
Under 9 are Birth Year 2008 (7-a-side)
Under 8 are Birth Year 2009 (5-a-side)

Number of Players per Team

There is no limit to the number of players in each team. However only 7 substitutes are allowed in each match of 11-a-side and unlimited substitutes in 9-a-side, 7-a-side and 5-a-side matches. All players must be able to show proof of age and identity.

We recommend that all players use the same shirt number throughout the tournament.


Girls may play in boys teams in all classes as long as the regulations for age categories are followed.

Number of Teams in the Tournament

It is our aim that all teams wishing to take part in the Chicago KICS International Youth Cup should be able to do so. The teams paying their entry fees first will be given priority.

Housing and Participation

KICS International Village (IV) Accommodation:

June 28th-July 2. Minimum one, maximum four leaders per team may stay in the IV. Everyone staying at the IV has to pay the accommodation cost, however one team leader is included. Sleeping bag or mattresses are not included in the price. You can rent cots and bedding from us for an additional cost (see here). 

KICS Hotel Accommodation:

The price range is per person in double room . Please contact Blair at for availability and prices. Lunch and dinner at nearby KICS International Village can be purchased separately (see here).

Own Accommodation:

Local teams arranging their own accommodation. There is a limited number of teams accepted in this category.


Return shuttle transfer to and from airport terminal in Chicago and your place of accommodation is included in the Chicago KICS International Village Accommodation cost. Participants outside of the KICS International Village can purchase shuttle transfer.

Extra nights

If you want to stay at the International Village (maximum of two) nights before or after the tournament, please let us know in advance. Price for an extra night/person is available (contact us here for more info). No meals are served during this period.

Insurances and Responsibility

Make sure that all your players are insured both on and off the playing field. The Chicago KICS International Youth Cup does not carry any group insurance protecting participants in case of injury, illness, theft or damage to property. Participants from countries that have no medical insurance must have personal medical insurance.

Please do not keep any money or valuable in your school room.

Cancelation of the Tournament and Force Majeure

In the event that the tournament can’t be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the tournament organizers (force majeure*) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence or the tournament organizers, the tournament organizers cannot be held liable by the delegations for any damages, costs or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, costs for additional orders, financial losses etc. Under these circumstances, the tournament organizers reserve the right to either retain the entire registration/accommodation fee and to use it for a future tournament, or to reimburse the delegations after deducting costs already incurred for the organization of the tournament and which could not be recovered from third parties.

*The Chicago KICS International Youth Cup is in no way responsible for injury or economic loss which may arise in the case of war, warlike events, civil war, revolution or civil disturbances or because of the actions of the authorities, strikes, lockouts, blockades or similar events.

Entry & Payments

The team fee deposit together with the completed application must be received by the Chicago KICS International Youth Cup no later than June 15, 2018. The accommodation fees must be paid no later than June 1, 2018. Refunds of accommodation fees could only be made when the Chicago KICS Cup receives your withdrawal notice before June 10, 2017. The team fee can not be refunded.

All payments must be made in US Dollars.

Note that all bank transaction fees have to be paid for by the teams.

Important Dates

December 1, 2017: Online registration form for next year’s tournament opens.

June 1, 2018: Last date for the accommodation fee/participation fee for all participants who stay in a school, a hotel or other. Both leaders and players pay this fee. You can cancel players until June 10, after that a doctors certificate is required.

June 5, 2018: Final date for payments of extra orders as extra Chicago KICS Wristbands, extra Leaders Wristbands, special food or meal cards. Also the deadline to cancel a player.  After that a doctor’s certificate is required.

June 10, 2018: Final date for team fee.
To guarantee your place in the tournament please pay your team fee as soon as possible. When we receive your team fee we confirm your place in the Chicago KICS International Youth Cup.
